The different uses of the two words can be subtle. Let&#8217;s have a closer look.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Farther:<\/strong> Refers to physical distance only.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Examples:<\/strong><br \/>\nWe had to walk farther than the map indicated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Reno is farther from San Francisco than from Sacramento.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Further:<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Moreover; in addition; to a greater extent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Examples:<\/strong><br \/>\nWe need to discuss this further.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Nothing could be further from the truth.<\/p>\n<p>2. May be used for physical distance although farther is preferred.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Example:<\/strong><br \/>\nWe had to drive further.<\/p>\n<p>3.
