Feasible, Possible

Some use feasible as a synonym for likely or reasonable, as in He gave a feasible explanation, but this is SLIPSHOD EXTENSION. Others use it when they simply mean possible. While anything feasible is possible, not everything that is possible is feasible.

If a plan is feasible, it is not only possible but realistic and practical. It may be possible to build one's dream home on a bleak, stormy mountain with no roads, but who would call such a plan feasible?
